FYI: I’ll be posting the last section of the interview with Orson Scott Card this weekend sometime, along with my own musings. I’m also working on lining up an interview with Richard Lowry, a Wordtripper with a book coming out very soon (it may have just come out actually, I don’t have the release date in front of me). I’m also trying to settle on a show format and release schedule to be posted/announced soon. Stay tuned for updates.

This is the second part of the Orson Scott Card interview. This was actually the first part I recorded with OSC and myself PLUS the added bonus of Ed Schubert who is the new editor of InterGalactic Medicine Show The audio quality with both of them talking wasn’t quite what I expected/wanted, so the sound has been tweaked to get you as much content as possible. This is about 35 minutes or so and the largest section of the interview. I hope you enjoy listening at least half as much as I did recording it.

OK, I got an hour or so of interview with OSC at his class this weekend. I’m breaking it up into three shows, which I’ll be putting up over the next few days. The next two should have better sound quality than this one as I’ll have time to edit them more, but I wanted to get something up to you guys while it was fresh and new.

Quick re-visit of Kaavya Viswanathan. Is the publisher wasting a lot of free press?
Year of writing: My “get it done every day” process involves writing before bed, and turning off the internal editor which apparently takes me a little too close to where I dream as I find myself dozing off near the end (the last few sentences end up being goofy and random).
I’m going to the OSC Writing Class, look me up if you’re going too.

Sorry for the delays again… it’s been a long month, June will be longer. I’ve got notes for the next podcast saved but haven’t had a chance to record it yet.

Well, I finally got something recorded for you. I’m still messing with mics and such, and playing with the new podcast settings in GarageBand, so things on the sound quality front may still be a bit dodgy. BUT we’ve got a podcast, some rambling on originality and how hard it can be to have your own voice. This was prompted by the recent controversy over “How Opal Mehta God Kissed, God Wild, and Got a Life” by Kaavya Viswanathan AND my own struggle with a story that runs off into somebody else’s plot.
Also mentioned is “The Kissy Bits” podcast.

We had a fun weekend (and early part of the week) at my house with people sick and a pet snake kicking the bucket. So the “normal” podcast for last weekend didn’t get put up. This weekend will be busy too, but I’m hoping to get something up anyway.

A nice quick look at journaling as non-writing, and sharing too much about your writing. And yes I said Episcode apparently… and I’m working from fewer notes today, let me know if you like it less or more than the other recent podcasts (done with quite a few notes).
